Strikes for Shelter

Join OYFP and the Boston Young Professionals Association at Strikes for Shelter, a bowling fundraiser for Christopher's Haven. Your $15 donation includes bowling, shoe rental, and appetizers, not to mention the chance to mix and mingle with some of Boston's most interesting residents! You'll also learn about Christopher's Haven, "a home for kids when cancer hits home." If you'd like to participate in the event but not bowl, please feel free to bring along a cash or a gift card donation in whatever amount you would like to contribute.

Christopher’s Haven was founded in 2001 by Dan Olsen, a local actor, singer-songwriter and three time cancer survivor. While receiving treatments at Massachusetts General Hospital, he met families struggling to care for a child battling cancer while also facing the staggering costs of extended stays near the hospital. Dan committed himself to doing something to help families like those he’d met. He envisioned a haven for young cancer patients and their families - a place that would free them from concerns about lodging, and allow them to focus on their child’s treatment and recovery.
